Vietnam received the application requesting the final review of safeguard measures for imported billet and long steel products

Decision No. 918/QD-BCT on extending the application of safeguard measures to imported billet and long steel products was issued by the Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade on March 20, 2020. According to the Decision, the Safeguard measures against imported billet and long steel products will be extended until March 22, 2023, in case of non-renewal.

Imported billet and long steel products subject to safeguard measures under Decision 918/QD-BCT have HS code: 7207.11.00; 7207.19.00; 7207.20.29; 7207.20.99; 7224.90.00; 7213.10.10; 7213.10.90; 7213.91.20; 7214.20.31; 7214.20.41; 7227.90.00; 7228.30.10; 9811.00.00.

According to Decision 918/QD-BCT, the safeguard measure for billet and long steel products is effective from March 22, 2020, to the end of March 22, 2023, in case of no further extension.

Pursuant to the provisions of Article 96.2 (a) Law on Foreign Trade Management and Article 69.1 of Decree 10/2018/ND-CP detailing a number of articles of the Law on Foreign Trade Management on trade remedies, the Vietnam Department of Trade Remedies requests domestic organizations and individuals producing similar or directly competitive goods that wish to extend the application of safeguard measures to submit a request for extension of the application of safeguard measures.

The submission of the request for the final review must be done before 5:00 p.m. on August 13, 2022.
