Vietnam issues the results of the first review of the application of anti-dumping measures on some BOPP products originating from Malaysia, Thailand, and China

On July 15, 2022, Vietnam issued the results of the first review of the application of anti-dumping measures on some BOPP products originating from Malaysia, Thailand, and China with Decision No. 1403/QD-BCT.

On July 20, 2020, anti-dumping measures were applied to a number of imported plastic products and products made from polymers and propylene (also known as BOPP – Biaxially Oriented PolyPropylene Films) into Vietnam originating from Malaysia, Thailand and China.

On September 24, 2021, the Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 2201/QD-BCT on the first review of the application of anti-dumping measures to a number of imported plastic products and products made from polymers and propylene originating from Malaysia, Thailand, and China.

On July 15, 2022, the Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 1403/QD-BCT on the results of the first review of the application of anti-dumping measures on a number of imported plastic products and products made from polymers and propylene originating from Malaysia, Thailand and China on the request of relevant parties for review under the provisions of Clause 1, Article 82 of the Law on Foreign Trade Management 2017.

Results of the first review of the application of anti-dumping measures on some BOPP products originating from Malaysia, Thailand and China

According to Decision No. 1403, Vietnam officially applied anti-dumping measures to a number of plastic products and products made from polymers and propylene imported into Vietnam, classified under HS codes 3920.20.10 and 3920.20.91 originating from the above 3 countries.

This decision is issued based on the results of the first review.

Decision No. 1403 replaces Decision No. 1900 of July 20, 2020 on the application of official anti-dumping measures to a number of plastic products and products made from polymers and propylene from Malaysia, Thailand, and China and will come into force 5 days after its issuance, i.e. 20 July 2022.
