On May 22, 2026, the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued a decision to extend the review period in the first review of the anti-dumping measures applied to prestressed steel wire strand products imported from Malaysia, Thailand, and China (case code AR01.AD17).
According to the decision, the deadline for completing the investigation has been extended by an additional three months, until October 21, 2026, in order to allow more time for a comprehensive and objective assessment of issues arising during the review process.
Previously, the first review investigation was initiated under a decision issued on January 21, 2026, concerning the anti-dumping measures currently imposed on certain prestressed steel wire strand products imported from the three aforementioned countries.
The products subject to the review are prestressed steel wire strands — materials widely used in infrastructure works, bridges, roads, large-scale civil construction projects, and engineering projects requiring high load-bearing capacity. This product group plays an important role in Vietnam’s construction and infrastructure development sectors, particularly amid the continued growth in public investment and construction demand.
Developments in the case may have certain implications for raw material import activities, input costs of some construction projects, as well as the commercial strategies of enterprises operating in the domestic production and supply of construction materials.
The extension of the review period is commonly applied in trade remedy investigations involving complex assessment scopes or where additional data and information from interested parties are required to ensure that the investigation results fully reflect market conditions, the extent of dumping, and the impact on the domestic industry.
To protect their legitimate interests, manufacturers and exporters should familiarize themselves with the procedure and actively contact Vietnam Antidumping Law Firm specializing in anti-dumping and trade remedy for timely assistance.
