The Korea Trade Commission (KTC) recently issued a notice on extending the anti-dumping investigation time for cast copper pipes originating from Vietnam and China for another 2 months.
Cast copper pipe products originating from Vietnam and China have initiated an anti-dumping investigation by Korea and the investigation is expected to be completed at the end of June 2022.
However, because the investigation of cast copper pipe products with HS code 7411.10.0000 originating from Vietnam and China encountered more difficulties and obstacles than expected, the Korea Trade Commission (KTC) has decided to extend the investigation period for another 2 months, until August 27, 2022.
This extension will be optimized by KTC to investigate and review additional information related to manufacturers and importers of cast copper pipes originating from Vietnam and China.
Extension of time for anti-dumping investigation for cast copper pipe products
The case of anti-dumping investigation of cast copper pipe products was officially initiated by KTC on October 29, 2021.
Preliminary conclusions regarding the case were issued on April 22, 2022.
According to the information in the preliminary conclusion, the dumping margin of Chinese manufacturers and exporters will be from 15.95% to 42.03%. For Vietnam, the dumping margin will be from 10% to 14.78%.
However, KTC also suggested that the temporary anti-dumping measure for the case of cast copper pipe products should not be applied because there is no clear sign that the imported goods cause significant damage to the manufacturing industry in Korea.
In order to ensure their interests, enterprises producing and exporting cast copper pipes related to the case should contact the representative of the Korean Investigation Agency, the Trade Remedies Department, or a renowned law firm for anti-dumping in Vietnam and internationally to receive timely support.
During this time, businesses need to continue to closely monitor information and developments of the case and collect and learn information from partners in Korea, as well as actively coordinate with the investigating agency in Korea and the Department of Trade Remedies during the course of the investigation.
