Within the framework of New Zealand’s global safeguard investigation concerning certain imported aluminium extrusion products, the investigating authority has requested all interested parties to comply with confidentiality requirements throughout the proceeding.
Accordingly, information designated as confidential will not be disclosed to any other party without the consent of the party that submitted such information. To facilitate the review process, the investigating authority encourages interested parties submitting confidential documents to also provide:
• A non-confidential version of the document; or
• A clear indication that the document may be placed on the public file of the investigation.
Recommendations for Vietnamese Exporters
As global safeguard measures apply to imports from all countries and territories regardless of origin, the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam recommends that relevant industry associations and manufacturing and exporting enterprises closely monitor developments in the investigation.
Specifically, businesses should review the applicable HS codes and their export turnover to New Zealand during the 2023–2025 period for aluminium extrusion products covered by the scope of the investigation.
In addition, companies are encouraged to register as interested parties at an early stage in order to gain access to the public file of the case and receive regular updates and notifications from New Zealand’s Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE).
Furthermore, businesses should allocate appropriate resources and personnel to fully cooperate with the investigating authority if they receive investigation questionnaires. They should also be prepared to participate in hearings to present their views and safeguard their legitimate rights and interests throughout the course of the investigation.
To protect their legitimate interests, manufacturers and exporters should familiarize themselves with the procedure and actively contact Vietnam Antidumping Law Firm specializing in anti-dumping and trade remedy for timely assistance.
