On 30 January 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 228/QD-BCT on the imposition of provisional anti-dumping duties on certain imported clear float glass products originating from the Republic of Indonesia and Malaysia. Pursuant to this Decision, the provisional anti-dumping duty rates applied to the investigated products range from 15.17% to 63.39%.
During the investigation, based on the provisions of the Law on Foreign Trade Management, the Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinated with relevant authorities and units to comprehensively review and assess the impact of dumping practices by the imported products on the domestic manufacturing industry, while determining the dumping margins of producers and exporters from Indonesia and Malaysia.
The preliminary investigation results indicate that the dumped imports of clear float glass products from Indonesia and Malaysia have caused and continue to cause significant and evident injury to the domestic manufacturing industry. Notably, after the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued the decision to initiate the investigation, imports of the investigated products continued to increase rapidly and sharply, rising by more than 61.82% compared to the same period.
Based on the above preliminary findings, in order to promptly prevent the risk of a surge in imports of clear float glass that could lead to serious and difficult-to-remedy injury to the domestic manufacturing industry, the Ministry of Industry and Trade decided to apply provisional anti-dumping measures to the relevant products.
In accordance with the Law on Foreign Trade Management, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to work with relevant parties to collect and verify information and documents provided by the parties, and will issue a final conclusion based on a full and comprehensive assessment of the impacts of the case.
