On 20 November 2025, the Minister of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 3377/QĐ-BCT together with an official Notice on the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation into certain Sorbitol products originating in India, Indonesia, and China.
The investigation is conducted under Case No. ER01.AD14 and is implemented in accordance with Vietnam’s trade remedy regulations, as well as the international commitments to which Vietnam is a party.
Following the initiation of the investigation, on 2 December 2025, the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam issued Official Letter No. 1345/PVTM-P2 on the issuance of the questionnaire for the sunset review investigation under Case No. ER01.AD14.
The questionnaire was sent to the interested parties to collect necessary information and data for the assessment of import volumes, the degree of dumping, and the impact of the investigated products on the domestic industry. Under the initial notice, the deadline for submission of questionnaire responses was set as prior to 9 January 2026.
During the course of implementation, based on a request for an extension submitted by the domestic producers, the investigating authority reviewed and approved an adjustment of the deadline in order to allow the parties additional time to prepare dossiers, consolidate data, and complete their responses in a full and accurate manner. Accordingly, the final deadline for submission of questionnaire responses has been extended to prior to 9 February 2026 (Hanoi time).
The extension of the deadline is considered necessary to ensure the lawful rights and interests of the interested parties, while also contributing to the improvement of the quality and reliability of the information and data used in the investigation.
After the above deadline, in cases where parties fail to submit, or submit incomplete questionnaire responses as required, the investigating authority may rely on the facts available in accordance with Vietnam’s trade remedy regulations to reach its conclusions in the case.
With respect to other matters relating to the scope of the investigation, methods of information submission, filing formats, and specific technical requirements, the interested parties are required to continue complying strictly with the guidance set out in the questionnaire issued together with Official Letter No. 1345/PVTM-P2 dated 2 December 2025 of the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam. Full compliance with these instructions is of material importance in ensuring the timetable and objectivity of the investigation.
To protect their legitimate interests, manufacturers and exporters should familiarize themselves with the procedure and actively contact Vietnam Antidumping Law Firm specializing in anti-dumping and trade remedy for timely assistance.
The Notice on the extension of the deadline for submission of questionnaire responses in Case No. ER01.AD14 has been officially published in accordance with applicable regulations here.
