On November 12, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Decision No. 3011/QD-BCT on the end-of-term review results of the anti-dumping measures applied to certain cold-rolled stainless steel products originating from Taiwan (China), Indonesia, Malaysia, and China (case ER02.AD01).
On September 5, 2014, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Decision No. 7896/QD-BCT to apply anti-dumping measures on cold-rolled stainless steel products from Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and China. After five years of applying anti-dumping measures from October 2014 to 2019, the domestic production industry gradually overcame significant prior damages; however, growth remained unstable with tendencies to stagnate or slightly decline.
Accordingly, on October 21, 2019, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 3162/QD-BCT regarding the end-of-term review results on the application of anti-dumping measures to certain cold-rolled stainless steel products originating from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Taiwan.
On October 23, 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 2752/QD-BCT to initiate the end-of-term review of the anti-dumping measures applied to certain cold-rolled stainless steel products originating from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Taiwan.
On November 7, 2023, the Trade Remedies Authority (the investigative agency) issued Official Letter No. 908/PVTM-P2 to domestic manufacturers and importing companies regarding the issuance of the investigation questionnaire.
On November 12, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 3011/QD-BCT on the end-of-term review results of the anti-dumping measures applied to certain cold-rolled stainless steel products originating from Taiwan (China), Indonesia, Malaysia, and China (case ER02.AD01).
The investigated products are classified under HS codes 7219.32.00; 7219.33.00; 7219.34.00; 7219.35.00; 7219.90.00; 7220.20.10; 7220.20.90; 7220.90.10; 7220.90.90. Case ID: ER02.AD01.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam conducted verification and assessment of information provided by the parties before concluding the official investigation. Based on the review results, and in compliance with WTO regulations, the Law on Foreign Trade Management, guiding documents, and comments from relevant parties, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam decided to terminate and not extend the anti-dumping measures on certain cold-rolled stainless steel products originating from Taiwan (China), Indonesia, Malaysia, and China, as specified in Decision No. 3162/QD-BCT dated October 21, 2019.
In the coming period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to closely monitor the import situation of certain cold-rolled stainless steel products from various sources into Vietnam, ensuring appropriate measures in line with international commitments and domestic laws to protect the legitimate interests of the domestic manufacturing sector and consumers.
