On August 21, 2024, the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam held a public consultation regarding the investigation into the application of anti-dumping measures on prestressed steel cables imported from Malaysia, Thailand, and China. On August 22, 2024, the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam organized a public consultation for the investigation of anti-dumping measures on wind towers originating from China.
These public consultations were conducted in accordance with Article 70 of the Law on Foreign Trade Management of 2017 and Article 13 of Decree No. 10/2018/ND-CP, which details certain provisions of the Law on Foreign Trade Management related to trade remedies. The purpose was to provide an opportunity for the relevant parties to present their views, opinions, and provide information related to the cases.
During the consultations, the investigating authority listened to the opinions of representatives from all involved parties. All comments and viewpoints were compiled, reviewed, and assessed by the investigating authority for inclusion in the final investigation conclusions. The process ensures that the investigation is conducted fairly, transparently, and in accordance with Vietnamese law and WTO regulations.
The consultation on prestressed steel cables imported from Malaysia, Thailand, and China was attended by 34 representatives from the parties involved. The consultation on wind towers imported from China was attended by 13 representatives. Participants in these consultations included:
- The Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam – Investigating Authority;
- Domestic producers;
- Foreign producers and exporters;
- Importers;
- Authorized representatives of the involved parties.
At the consultations, the investigating authority carefully considered the views and opinions of all parties. The inputs from all parties will be compiled, reviewed, and evaluated in the final investigation report to ensure that the investigation is conducted in a fair and transparent manner, adhering strictly to the laws of Vietnam and the WTO.
