On June 25, 2024, WongPartnership LLP and ASL LAW will hold a workshop: “Experience in Resolving Disputes through International Arbitration in Singapore and Enforcement of Arbitral Awards in Vietnam.”
The Workshop “Experience in Resolving Disputes through International Arbitration in Singapore and Enforcement of Arbitral Awards in Vietnam,” organized by WongPartnership LLP (Big 4 Singapore Law Firms) and ASL LAW, will provide a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese businesses and legal professionals to gain in-depth knowledge of the procedures and experiences in resolving disputes through international arbitration, particularly in Singapore, and to better understand the enforcement procedures of arbitral awards in Vietnam.
Main Contents of the Workshop
The workshop will discuss the following issues:
- Expectations of Vietnamese parties in international arbitration
- Experiences working with Vietnamese parties in international arbitration
- The role and importance of Vietnamese co-counsel in international arbitration and effective cooperation methods
- Enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in Vietnam
- Key characteristics of international arbitration in Singapore
Some of the typical topics to be discussed and shared at the seminar include the procedures of international arbitration, such as filing a Notice of Arbitration (NOA), responding to the NOA, filing counterclaims, preliminary decisions on the tribunal’s jurisdiction, forming the arbitral tribunal, and experiences in appointing/selecting arbitrators.
Additional experiences will cover document preparation, including argumentation styles, methods for establishing Memoranda of Understanding (MOU), witness and expert evidence, and considerations for hearings.
