On June 5, 2024, Vietnam issued Decision No. 1356/QD-BCT, extending the second review period for the application of antidumping measures on certain H-beam steel products originating from China by three months. The investigation is now set to conclude on September 5, 2024.
On March 21, 2017, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 957/QD-BCT, applying provisional antidumping duties on certain H-beam steel products imported from China (including Hong Kong). On August 21, 2017, the Ministry issued Decision No. 3283/QD-BCT, officially applying antidumping measures on these products.
On August 19, 2022, the Ministry issued Decision No. 1640/QD-BCT, announcing the results of the final review. Accordingly, the antidumping measures on H-beam steel products were extended for an additional five years. The H-beam steel products in this case, also known as “H-beams,” “W-beams,” or “wide flange beams,” are classified under HS codes: 7216.33.11, 7216.33.19, 7216.33.90, 7228.70.10, and 7228.70.90.
On December 5, 2023, the Ministry issued Decision No. 3133/QD-BCT, initiating the second review of the application of antidumping measures on H-beam steel products from China.
To allow more time for a comprehensive and objective review of all issues related to the case, as well as the opinions of the involved parties, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, based on the provisions of Article 82 of the Law on Foreign Trade Management No. 05/2017/QH14, has extended the second review period for the application of antidumping measures on H-beam steel products from China by three months. The new deadline for concluding the review is September 5, 2024.
