On September 23, 2024, the Minister of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 2531/QD-BCT on the extension of the application of anti-dumping (AD) measures against certain aluminum products originating from the People’s Republic of China.
According to the decision, the AD measures will continue to be imposed for an additional five years starting from October 3, 2024, with the aim of protecting the domestic industry from material injury caused by the prolonged dumping of imported goods.
Pursuant to Article 51 of Decree No. 86/2025/ND-CP dated June 28, 2025, detailing several provisions of the Law on Foreign Trade Management concerning trade remedies, the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (Investigating Authority) announces the receipt of request dossiers for a review of the ongoing application of anti-dumping duties on aluminum products imported from China.
Interested parties as defined in Article 56 of Decree No. 86/2025/ND-CP—including domestic producers, importers, foreign exporters, the government of the exporting country, or representative organizations of the industry—have the right to submit a request for review.
The review request dossier must be fully prepared in accordance with Clause 1, Article 57 of the Decree, and must include reasons, legal grounds, and specific evidence demonstrating the necessity of a review.
The review may include:
- Periodic review, to assess the necessity of continuing the measures;
- Interim review, if there is evidence that a revision of the duty rate is warranted;
- Scope review, in cases where an exclusion or inclusion of certain products is requested.
The deadline for submitting a review request dossier is September 3, 2025.
To protect their legitimate interests, manufacturers and exporters should familiarize themselves with the procedure and actively contact Vietnam Antidumping Law Firm specializing in anti-dumping and trade remedy for timely assistance.
