The Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV) has reported that it received information that the National Tariff Commission of Pakistan (NTC) has accepted a petition requesting the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation into adhesive tape products originating in and/or imported from Vietnam.
The product under consideration is BOPP (biaxially oriented) self-adhesive tape in jumbo rolls, referred to in English as Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) self-adhesive tapes – jumbo rolls. These products are classified under HS codes 3919.9010 and 3919.9090.
At present, the NTC is reviewing the sufficiency and validity of the petition to determine whether to formally initiate the investigation. Information regarding the period of investigation for dumping as well as the injury review period has not yet been disclosed by the Pakistani authorities. TRAV will continue to closely monitor developments and provide timely updates to relevant stakeholders.
In this context, TRAV recommends that relevant associations and manufacturing/exporting enterprises proactively adopt response measures. First, businesses should review their export activities of the investigated products to the Pakistani market to assess potential impacts.
In addition, enterprises are advised to develop response strategies in the event that the investigation is officially initiated. This includes preparing necessary resources and compiling, organizing data related to production costs, sales activities, and exports to Pakistan to facilitate responses to the investigation questionnaire.
