On 19 December 2025, the European Commission (EC) issued a Preliminary Disclosure in the anti-dumping investigation concerning certain polyethylene terephthalate (PET) products with an intrinsic viscosity of 78 ml/g or higher, measured in accordance with ISO Standard 1628-5, currently classified under CN code 39076100.
According to the Preliminary Disclosure, the EC does not intend to impose provisional anti-dumping measures on the products under investigation at this stage. At the same time, the EC has invited interested parties to submit comments on the Disclosure no later than 22 January 2026.
Previously, on 22 May 2025, the EC issued a Notice of Initiation of an anti-dumping investigation concerning certain PET products originating in Vietnam and imported into the European Union market.
The decision not to impose provisional anti-dumping measures at the current stage does not affect the ongoing investigation. The investigation into PET products will continue in accordance with the prescribed procedures, and the EC is expected to issue its final determination in July 2026.
The Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam recommends that the Vietnam Plastics Association, together with producers and exporters of the products under investigation, continue to fully and comprehensively cooperate with the European Commission throughout the remainder of the investigation, while maintaining timely coordination and information sharing in order to receive necessary support from the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam.
