Recently, the Vietnam Trade Remedies Authority issued an official announcement regarding the acceptance of applications for the end-of-term review of the application of anti-dumping measures on MSG products from Indonesia and China.
On July 22, 2020, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 1933/QD-BCT on the official imposition of anti-dumping duties on MSG products from Indonesia and China.
On April 6, 2022, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 640/QD-BCT on the results of the first review of the official imposition of anti-dumping duties on certain MSG products originating from China and Indonesia.
On June 19, 2023, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 1466/QD-BCT regarding the second review of the application of anti-dumping measures on MSG products from China and Indonesia.
According to the provisions of Article 62, Clause 1 of Decree No. 10/2018/ND-CP, no later than 1 year before the expiry of the anti-dumping measures, the investigating authority shall announce the acceptance of applications for the end-of-term review of the application of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures.
Within 30 days from the date of the investigating authority’s announcement, domestic producers representing the domestic manufacturing industry as prescribed in Article 79(2) and Article 87(2) of the Law on Foreign Trade Management shall have the right to submit applications for the end-of-term review of the application of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy measures.
Accordingly, the deadline for the Vietnam Trade Remedies Authority to receive applications submitted by manufacturers will be no later than May 24, 2024. Manufacturers of MSG products related to the case should take note of this deadline to ensure timely and complete submission of applications. Applications must be submitted directly to the Vietnam Trade Remedies Authority within the specified period.
