On June 5, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Decision No. 1359/QD-BCT, extending the final review period for the application of antidumping measures on certain aluminum products originating from China by three months. The new deadline for the investigation is October 3, 2024.
On September 28, 2019, the Ministry issued Decision No. 2942/QD-BCT, officially applying antidumping measures on certain aluminum products from China. This decision has been effective for five years since its issuance. The goods subject to official antidumping duties are classified under HS codes: 7604.10.10; 7604.10.90; 7604.21.90; 7604.29.10; 7604.29.90.
On April 20, 2021, the Ministry issued Decision No. 1282/QD-BCT, announcing the results of the first review of the application of antidumping measures on certain aluminum products from China. On January 16, 2023, the Ministry issued Decision No. 74/QD-BCT, announcing the results of the second review.
On July 4, 2023, the Ministry announced the official acceptance of applications for the final review of the application of antidumping measures on aluminum products from China. On August 4, 2023, the Ministry received the final review request from domestic producers.
On October 3, 2023, the Ministry issued Decision No. 2537/QD-BCT to conduct the final review of the application of antidumping measures on certain aluminum products imported from China into Vietnam. On October 18, 2023, the Ministry issued Decision No. 837/PVTM-P2, releasing the final review investigation questionnaire for case ER01.AD05 (the investigation of aluminum products from China). The deadline for submitting responses to the questionnaire was November 28, 2023.
To allow more time for a comprehensive and objective review of all issues related to the case, as well as the opinions of involved parties, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, based on the provisions of Article 82 of the Law on Foreign Trade Management No. 05/2017/QH14, has extended the final review period for the application of antidumping measures on Chinese aluminum products by three months. The new deadline for concluding the review is October 3, 2024.
