As of June 3, 2025, the Vietnam Intellectual Property Office (IP Vietnam) officially implements the issuance and authentication of electronic copies of industrial property application files, documents, and protection certificates. This marks a significant step forward in the modernization of administrative procedures, helping individuals and businesses save time and effort when conducting intellectual property-related transactions.
Accordingly, after applicants submit their requests and receive approval from IP Vietnam, all information regarding the electronic copies will be sent via the registered email. This information includes the application or protection certificate number, a retrieval link, and an authentication code.
Recipients can easily view, download, and use the documents immediately without the delays associated with traditional methods. Notably, these electronic copies carry the same legal validity as their paper counterparts and are fully recognized in all legal procedures.
For applicants who do not have an email address or who require physical copies for specific reasons, IP Vietnam will continue to provide traditional paper-based services via postal mail or direct issuance at its One-Stop Service Department.
