Vietnam extends deadline for submitting questionnaire responses in hot-rolled steel investigation against India and China (Case Code: AD20)

On September 11, 2024, the Trade Remedies Authority under Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade issued a notice extending the deadline for submitting responses to the questionnaire in the investigation of hot-rolled steel from India and China.

On August 12, 2024, the Trade Remedies Authority issued Notice No. 106/TB-PVTM, officially releasing the questionnaire for foreign manufacturers and exporters in Case AD20. The original deadline for submitting responses was 5:00 PM on September 18, 2024 (Hanoi time).

However, during this period, foreign manufacturers/exporters indicated that the original deadline was insufficient for them to gather and thoroughly prepare the necessary information to support the investigation. Representatives submitted formal requests for an extension, citing the large amount of data that needed to be provided.

Considering this request as reasonable and in the interest of ensuring objectivity and fairness among all involved parties, the investigation authority issued Notice No. 129/TB-PVTM on September 11, 2024, extending the deadline for foreign manufacturers/exporters in Case AD20 by 30 days, to 5:00 PM on October 18, 2024 (Hanoi time).

After this deadline, the investigation authority may use available data in accordance with trade remedy laws. All relevant parties are urged to cooperate fully by responding to the questionnaire and any other requests from the investigation authority if applicable.

To ensure their interests are protected, stakeholders should contact experienced Vietnamese law firms specializing in anti-dumping and trade remedy measures for timely assistance.
