On July 23, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 1945/QD-BCT on the end-of-term review investigation of anti-dumping measures applied to certain plastic products made from propylene polymers originating from Malaysia, Thailand, and China (Case No.: ER01.AD07).
The plastic products made from propylene polymers under investigation are classified under HS codes 3920.20.10 and 3920.20.91.
On July 20, 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 1900/QD-BCT on the official imposition of anti-dumping duties on plastic products made from propylene polymers originating from Malaysia, Thailand, and China.
On September 24, 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Decision No. 2201/QD-BCT on the first review of anti-dumping measures applied to plastic products made from propylene polymers originating from Malaysia, Thailand, and China.
On July 15, 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Decision No. 1403/QD-BCT on the results of the first review of anti-dumping measures on plastic products made from propylene polymers originating from Malaysia, Thailand, and China based on the request for review by interested parties under Clause 1, Article 82 of the Law on Foreign Trade Management 2017.
On November 14, 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Decision No. 2400/QD-BCT on the new exporter review in the case of anti-dumping measures applied to plastic products made from propylene polymers from Malaysia, Thailand, and China.
On July 23, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Decision No. 1945/QD-BCT on the end-of-term review investigation of anti-dumping measures applied to certain plastic products made from propylene polymers originating from Malaysia, Thailand, and China.
The end-of-term review aims to determine whether the termination or extension of the anti-dumping measures will have a positive or negative impact on the market for the investigated products.
In the coming period, the Investigating Authority will send questionnaires to the relevant parties to collect information for analyzing and evaluating the necessity of continuing or terminating the anti-dumping measures on plastic products made from propylene polymers originating from Malaysia, Thailand, and China.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade will conduct verification and re-examine the information provided by the relevant parties before concluding the official investigation.
To protect their interests, manufacturers and exporters of the investigated products should register as interested parties and provide the necessary information to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The deadline for registering as an interested party is 60 days from the date of the decision to initiate the review, which is October 17, 2024.
