On June 28, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Official Letter No. 495/PVTN-P2 regarding the issuance of the investigation questionnaire for domestic producers and importers in the anti-dumping investigation on coated steel from China and South Korea.
On June 14, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Decision No. 1535/QD-BCT along with an accompanying announcement regarding the investigation and application of anti-dumping measures on certain coated steel products originating from China and South Korea (case code: AD19).
To collect comprehensive information for the investigation process, the investigation agency has issued a questionnaire for domestic producers and importers. The questionnaire is publicly available on the Trade Remedies Authority’s file submission system (online.trav.gov.vn) and the investigation agency’s website (www.pvtm.gov.vn), as well as the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s website (www.moit.gov.vn).
The deadline for submitting the questionnaire responses is before 17:00 on August 5, 2024 (Hanoi time).
Submission Methods:
- Submit online at the Trade Remedies Authority’s file submission system at https://online.trav.gov.vn.
- Detailed instructions, regulations, and submission methods are provided in Appendix 3 and the documents attached to the questionnaire.
To ensure their rights and interests, businesses should respond fully and on time to the requested information, without evasion, alteration, or providing false information for their benefit. This is because the content of the questionnaire responses will serve as a basis for the investigation agency to consider and conclude the investigation of the case.
If the investigation agency does not receive timely responses from the relevant parties or if the provided information is incorrect or incomplete as required, the agency may use available data to issue a final tax imposition decision, which is usually disadvantageous for the businesses.
Additionally, the relevant parties should also contact their foreign counterparts responsible for exporting the investigated products to Vietnam to inform them of the case promptly and to respond to the questionnaire within the required timeframe.
