On July 23, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 1947/QD-BCT regarding the end-of-term review of anti-dumping measures applied to certain MSG (monosodium glutamate) products from Indonesia and China classified under HS code 2922.42.20 (Case No.: ER01.AD09).
On July 22, 2020, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Decision No. 1933/QD-BCT on the official imposition of anti-dumping duties on MSG products from Indonesia and China.
On April 6, 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Decision No. 640/QD-BCT on the results of the first review of the official anti-dumping duties applied to certain MSG products originating from China and Indonesia.
On June 19, 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Decision No. 1466/QD-BCT on the second review of the anti-dumping measures on MSG products from China and Indonesia.
On July 23, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 1947/QD-BCT regarding the end-of-term review of anti-dumping measures applied to certain MSG products from Indonesia and China. The end-of-term review will assess the necessity, reasonableness, and socio-economic impact of extending the measures, and whether terminating these measures could continue or recur the dumping practices and cause damage.
In the coming period, the Investigating Authority will send questionnaires to the relevant parties to collect information for analyzing and evaluating the necessity of continuing or terminating the anti-dumping measures on MSG products from China and Indonesia.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade will conduct verification and re-examine the information provided by the relevant parties before concluding the official investigation.
To protect their interests, manufacturers and exporters of the investigated products should register as interested parties and provide the necessary information to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The deadline for registering as an interested party is 60 days from the date of the decision to initiate the review, which is October 17, 2024.
