Recently, the Department of Foreign Trade (DFT) of Thailand issued a notice initiating the end-of-term review of anti-dumping duties imposed on cold-rolled carbon steel (Cold Reduced Carbon Steel in Coils and not in Coils) imported from Vietnam, China, and Taiwan.
The investigated steel products are classified under the following HS codes: 7209.1500, 7209.1600, 7209.1700, 7209.1820, 7209.1890, 7209.2500, 7219.2600, 7209.2700, 7209.2810, 7209.2890, 7209.9010, 7209.9090, 7211.2310, 7211.2320, 7211.2330, 7211.2390, 7211.2910, 7211.2920, 7211.2930, 7211.2990, 7225.5000.
DFT has issued an investigation questionnaire for foreign producers and exporters, with the deadline for submission set at 4:30 p.m. on March 7, 2025 (Bangkok time). To effectively respond to this case, the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) and relevant producers/exporters are urged to proactively register for participation and submit their responses in accordance with the required deadline and format.
Throughout the investigation process, businesses must fully and comprehensively cooperate to avoid being deemed non-cooperative or insufficiently cooperative, which could result in unfavorable conclusions and high anti-dumping duties.
To protect their legitimate interests, related manufacturers and exporters should familiarize themselves with the procedure and actively contact Vietnamese law firms specializing in anti-dumping and trade remedy for timely assistance.
