Recently, the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) of India announced that it has received a request for an anti-dumping investigation on medical rubber gloves originating from or imported from Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
At present, the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam under the Ministry of Industry and Trade has not received detailed information regarding the specific products under investigation.
Recommendations for Vietnamese Enterprises
To effectively respond to this case, the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam recommends that the Vietnam Rubber Association, relevant organizations, and Vietnamese enterprises engaged in the production and export of medical rubber gloves should:
• Review the export situation of medical rubber gloves to India.
• Communicate with import partners/customers in India to gather more information on the case and the domestic industry’s situation.
• Study India’s anti-dumping investigation regulations carefully.
• Plan participation and allocate resources to handle the case if an investigation is initiated.
Vietnam is one of the countries expanding its production and export of medical rubber gloves, benefiting from abundant raw material resources, competitive production costs, and manufacturing processes that meet international standards.
In recent years, India has become an important market for Vietnamese medical rubber glove exporters due to the increasing demand, especially following the COVID-19 pandemic.
