On November 25, 2024, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated an administrative review to update normal values and export prices for upholstered seating (UDS) products originating from or exported by eight exporters in China and Vietnam.
Additionally, CBSA will review affiliated companies and non-affiliated producers or trading companies involved in producing and selling the investigated UDS products to Canada through any of the eight exporters.
These eight exporters are considered mandatory respondents and are responsible for forwarding CBSA’s Request for Information (RFI) to the relevant parties. The CBSA is expected to issue the review findings by May 15, 2025.
If the involved parties fail to provide sufficient information as requested by CBSA, anti-dumping duties will be imposed at a rate of 188.0% on the investigated goods from China and 179.5% on those from Vietnam. Exporters who are not the producers of the investigated goods (e.g., trading companies, suppliers, etc.) will only be assigned separate normal values if their suppliers/producers provide adequate information to determine the normal value and export price.
